By using unorules.nz you accept these terms. Please read them before you use the site. Their purpose is to make clear what the site is, and what it is not.

About the site
unorules.nz is an independent information site about UNO and other card games, written for readers in New Zealand. The site is represented by the website’s owner.
Our purpose is to provide neutral, fact-based information about how games are set up, played and scored. We do not sell games. We are not connected to, endorsed by or sponsored by Mattel or any other game publisher.
Information only – not advice
The content on unorules.nz is general information only. It is not professional advice of any kind, and it is not a recommendation of any particular product, retailer or operator.
Our rule guides describe the official rules as published by each game’s maker, along with common house rules that we label as such. Editions of the same game can differ, and the rule sheet that came with your own copy is always the final authority for that copy.
Some articles mention casino games or gambling. That content is descriptive. It is not an encouragement to gamble and it is not gambling advice. Any decision to gamble is yours alone and is made at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
We aim for all information to be accurate and up to date, and we check it against reliable sources. Even so, details can become out of date or contain errors, for example when a game’s maker changes its rules, releases a new edition or withdraws a product.
We therefore give no guarantee that the content is always complete, accurate or current. Details that matter to you, such as rules for tournament play or the contents of a particular edition, should be checked against the maker’s official information before you rely on them.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that arises because you relied on information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under New Zealand law that cannot be excluded.
Links to other websites
The site may contain links to external websites, such as game publishers, retailers, public authorities, support organisations and, in a small number of articles, websites about gambling. We are not responsible for the content of those websites or for how they handle personal information.
A link to an external website does not mean that we recommend it. It means that the page may be a relevant source of further information.
Age limit and responsible gambling
UNO and the other card games we describe are played for fun, and many of them are suitable for the whole family. The parts of the site that mention casino games or gambling are intended only for adults aged 18 and over.
Gambling for money is restricted by age in New Zealand. The limits include 18 for Instant Kiwi, TAB betting and pokies in pubs and clubs, and 20 for casinos. Gambling outcomes depend on chance, and gambling should be treated as entertainment and never as a way to make money.
If you or someone close to you has a problem with gambling, help is available. The Gambling Helpline offers free, confidential support 24 hours a day on 0800 654 655, by text on 8006, or at gamblinghelpline.co.nz. You will find more on our responsible gambling page.
Intellectual property
The content on unorules.nz, including text and graphics, belongs to the website’s owner unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to link to our pages, but the content may not be copied or republished without permission.
UNO is a trademark of Mattel. The names of other games, their logos and their artwork belong to their respective owners. We use these names only to identify the games we describe.
Privacy and cookies
How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy, and the cookies the site uses are described in our cookie policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
